Kathy Kopellis McLeod is a Certified Dog Consultant & Professional Trainer who resides in Perth, Western Australia.
Kathy successfully runs her own behaviour consulting & dog training business and has over fifteen years experience working successfully with dogs.
She encourages positive reinforcement methods with not only her own dogs but also those of her clients.
With strong referral work from veterinary clinics and satisfied clients, her business has grown from strength to strength with her services even being ‘exclusively' used by some veterinary clinics.
She currently proudly owns three Siberian Huskies and has competed in obedience and agility trials attaining high accolades with her Siberian Chilli who is one of the highest titled Siberian Huskies in Australia .
Some of Kathy's initiatives over the last 12 months have included;
- A first for Perth , Reactive Rover® classes specifically designed for dogs who have issues with other dogs and/or people.
- Recognition by the International Association of Animal Behaviour Consultants as a Certified Dog Behaviour Consultant.
- Conducts seminars for vet nurses, dog trainers and many others on topical behaviour issues.
- Invited by veterinarians to speak at their clinics on ‘information evenings' for their clients or staff education.
- Services used by local councils to assist in assessing dogs where formal complaints have been lodged.
- TAFE lecturer speaking about dog behaviour, puppy training, body language and more.
- Invited by councils and RSPCA to speak about dog behaviour at public events.
- Kathy has talked on a number of radio stations discussing various dog behaviour problems.
Kathy is the author of the very popular pocket book ‘105 Great Ideas to Having a Well Behaved Dog' and her new release ‘Watch My Manners'. Her areas of particular interest are dog aggression, fearful & anxious dogs and generally dogs that behave badly.
Kathy has appeared on ABC television that ran a segment on Stateline about her work with dog aggression. |
