Assignment 12

This assignment is in 7 parts. It is the combination of the last two assignments -
1) Measuring performance and Usablility ( tasks 1 - 5 ), and
2) Design for Accessability ( tasks 6 - 7 ).

TASK ONE is to check all navigation and pages are complete.

 

TASK TWO is to determine the size of each image, and screen and determine the time it takes to download off the internet. The tast was to determine the timing under IDEAL conditions. This can be found on the left navigation panel :

TASK THREE requires three people to answer 5 questions about this site. These questions are:

  1. What was Guido job title when working for Nufarm Chemicals?
  2. Which software was used to draw my Citroen cars?
  3. Who do you call if you have a cockroach infestation, and which cockroaches are pictured.
  4. Give me the name of a site which deals with the subject of HCI : Human-Computer Interface.
  5. Give me the name of a site which I recommend as a good Science Fiction site.

TASK FOUR requires me to take notes on how the users carry out the tasks of part THREE. This Usability Report can be viewed here.

 

TASK FIVE is a File Size Report of the File size and download times used in activity Two..

 

TASK SIX required us to modify our code, so that it would be W.A.I. (Web Accessbility Initiative) Priority One compliant. This is an initiative of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

There are a number of guidelines which have to be met. If the priority One checkpoint is not met, then at least one group of users will find it impossible to access the website.

It has taken 1.5 hours to update the 19 screens. This is with the aid of a report which can be created for each screen using the Macromedia © Dreamweaver MX software.

TASK Seven required me to implement these inititiatives into my site. This has been done.
